We are so excited to add another Meetup to our roster: Docker Las Vegas. In addition to having a cute logo (created by Indonesian designer artist Ricky Asamanis), Docker serves as an open platform for developers and system administrators to build, ship and run distributed applications. Consisting of Docker Engine, a portable, lightweight runtime and packaging tool and Docker Hub, a cloud service for sharing applications and automating workflows, Docker enables apps to be quickly assembled from components and eliminates the friction between development, QA and production environments. As a result, IT can ship faster and run the same app, unchanged, on laptops, data center VMs and any cloud. (docker.com)
The group was founded exactly a year ago (happy anniversary!) in an effort to connect #VegasTech Docker users. “One way to disrupt established companies is to do things quicker, faster and cheaper. Many companies in the #VegasTech community are trying to do this & Docker enables them,” explains Innevator Dylan Simpson. “Since it is such a new technology, however, there isn’t as a wealth of knowledge around, so we established this Meetup for Docker users to help one another.”
We can’t wait for Docker’s first meeting here at Innevation, happening Wednesday, March 25 at 6 pm. RSVP here!
